William Layman, D.M.D. – Orthodontist in Clearwater, FL Dr. Bill’s adventurous spirit makes him refreshing. His exceptional academic training and clinical experience leaves patients grateful. Raised in a small Virginia farm town, Dr. Bill worked during high school: as a farmhand; loading dog feed; mowing church lawns and pumping gas. He used his wages to help pay for his braces.After graduating from The Citadel, cum laude, Lt. Layman served as a paratrooper with the Army’s 82nd Airborne. While in dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Bill was elected and served four years as class president. As an orthodontic resident at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Bill was part of the Cleft Palate and Cranio-Facial Anomalies Team, and received extensive training in the dental treatments of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Dr. Bill served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bill dedicates time to his family, Orthodontic and Sleep Apnea practice, triathlons, yoga and local charities. He also lectures at the Orthodontic residencies at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina. In 2007, Dr. Bill competed in the Ironman 70.3 Cancun and qualified for and competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. |
